City to hold special election to fill vacant Council seat 

The City will hold a special election to fill the Place 4 vacancy on the Sachse City Council. The seat became vacant effective midnight, Oct. 14, 2019, when officeholder Bill Adams submitted his resignation. The City Council accepted his resignation on Oct. 21. Applications to file for a place on the Special Election Ballot will be accepted now through Nov. 18. Early Voting will begin on Jan. 2 and end on Jan. 14, with Election Day taking place on Saturday, Jan. 18. All voting will be conducted at Sachse City Hall, 3815 Sachse Road, Building B. Merritt Road public meeting to be held on Nov. 12 

On Tuesday, Nov. 12, the City will conduct a public meeting to present the proposed improvements to Merritt Road from Pleasant Valley Road to north of Sachse Road. The open house meeting will be held in the cafeteria of Cheri Cox Elementary School, 7009 Woodbridge Parkway, from 6 to 8 p.m. Maps showing the proposed project’s location and geometric design will be available for viewing and discussion. City representatives as well as the project team will also be available to answer any questions about the proposed project. On Tuesday, Nov. 5, a Constitutional Amendment/Special Joint Election was held to vote to adopt or reject ten proposed Constitutional Amendments as submitted by the 86th Legislature of the State of Texas. Sachse Public Library to host a free Medicare Workshop on Nov. 12

The Sachse Public Library, 3815 Sachse Road, Building C, will host a free Medicare Workshop on Tuesday, Nov. 12, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Come and learn all about the ins and outs of Medicare from a licensed Texas insurance agent with more than 30 years of experience.
