Bicycle Safety Event TOMORROW!

The Sachse Police Department and Sachse Fire - Rescue will be hosting a bicycle safety event TOMORROW, July 23 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the parking lot in front of the Sachse Public Library. The event will teach young bicycle riders various rules of the road, and they will be able to gain confidence in their riding skills by going through fun obstacle courses. We encourage riders who are in Kindergarten through 8th grade to attend this event.

All participants will be required to wear a helmet, and a parent or guardian must be present. Please bring sunscreen and anything you want to drink to keep hydrated! Sachse Fire-Rescue will be having a splashdown at the end of the event, so make sure to bring a towel!

Sachse Police Department: Take Me Home Program

The Sachse Police Department wants to remind residents of an invaluable service available. The Take Me Home program is a registry designed to assist in the locating and return of adult and child residents who may have difficulty communicating with first responders due to a developmental or cognitive disability.

Parents or guardians can register their dependent with the police department by completing the appropriate form, providing a current photograph and submitting either electronically through the link provided, via email, or in-person at the Public Safety Building (3815-D Sachse Road). All registrants are kept confidential within a secure database, accessible only by law enforcement personnel as needed to assist in the locating or return of individuals whom have become separated from their care giver or are lost. Police department staff will update each registrant’s information annually with the parent or guardian.

As with all of our programs, this service is free to use. Residents can learn more about the Take Me Home program and access the application here.

NEWS RELEASE: NTMWD Update, July 19, 2022

WYLIE, TX – July 19, 2022: The North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD) is maintaining its call to action for continued reduction of outdoor watering by customers despite the progress being made to complete the critical maintenance at the Wylie Water Treatment Plant Complex. Drought conditions combined with peak water demands continue to put a stress on the regional delivery system and local water storage tank capacities. Ongoing water conservation habitats by customers, will help NTMWD maintain water delivery for essential services of safe drinking water and public safety. As drought conditions persist, elevated and sustained local water conservation efforts will remain critical – as every drop counts.
