2022 Sachse Scholarship Now Open!

Scholarship applications are now being accepted from students currently residing in Sachse, and working at a 12th grade level in public, home school, or private school.

This scholarship is awarded to one student in the amount of $1,000 and must be used during the 2022/2023 academic year at an accredited education institution beyond the high school level. Applications must be postmarked by March 25, 2022, and the scholarship is awarded in Spring 2022.

Site Selection Magazine - Governor's Cup

A great day for Sachse and the State of Texas. On Tuesday, Sachse City Manager, Gina Nash and Evolve Biologics Senior VP of Operations, Mark Krause, were in attendance for the press conference where Governor Greg Abbott announced that Texas has won Site Selection magazine's Governor's Cup for the 10th year in a row!


The City of Sachse and Evolve Biologics were selected to attend the event with company representatives and economic development leaders from across the state that helped solidify Texas’ success as the nation’s leader for economic development success.

No Fee Adoptions at the Sachse Animal Shelter

The Sachse Animal Shelter is at capacity and are needing to find homes for some of their furry friends. They are currently doing no fees for adoption so stop by and find your new best friend!

Tinker Engineer Create Hack

Perot Museum brings their magic to the Sachse Public Library!


The goal of the TECH Truck is to engage youth in hands-on, maker-based science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM) experiences that foster creativity and confidence. The TECH Truck brings hands-on discovery directly to SPL - providing science-based experiences for students. This LEGO Simple Machines Challenge program is recommended for students in 3rd through 5th grade.


SPL will host two sessions on Saturday, March 5. Free tickets will be available 30-minutes prior to each session, with a maximum of 25 students per session.


Session One: Begins at 2 p.m. (ticket pick-up available starting at 1:30 p.m.)

Session Two: Begins at 3 p.m. (ticket pick-up available starting at 2:30 p.m.)

CWD Recycling Center Tour

Councilmember Chance Lindsey and City staff were able to tour the Community Waste Disposal recycling facility today! Jason and his team explained the recycling process, from unloading, to sorting by hand, and being shipped off in bales.

If you ever get the opportunity to tour this facility, we highly recommend it!

Adult Craft Night - Tie-Dye Bath Bombs

Join the Sachse Public Library for a low-stress, creative evening of fun especially designed for adults on Thursday, March 10. You will be making bath bombs! Limited tickets will be available beginning at 6 p.m. on a first come, first serve basis. Hope to see you there!

As a reminder, some residences may see a change in their bulk/brush collection schedule. Direct notification was sent to those affected (a specific area in Woodbridge West), so if you have not been contacted, your route has not changed.

Discover Your Bulk & Brush Collection Day

The City has new times to set out your bulk trash and brush collection. Bulk trash needs to be placed out no earlier than 48 hours prior to your scheduled collection day. What about brush? It goes out on the Saturday prior to your collection day.

Please Note: no more than 6 cubic yards of brush/bulk are allowed to be out on the curb at one time.

Sachse's Chart For COVID-19 Info

Sachse maintains a list of active/recovered patients on its COVID-19 webpage. The chart includes the number of active cases, where the cases are located by county, the gender of the patients, status of the patients
(e.g., hospitalized, self-quarantined) and the number of recovered cases.
