Sachse Public Library Summer Reading Challenge Begins

The Sachse Public Library's annual Summer Reading Challenge is here again! This year's Summer Reading theme is "Tails and Tales," and we invite you to discover all about the amazing animals that inhabit our planet. Kids, teens, and adults of all ages are all invited to participate in this year's 20-Hour Reading Challenge. For every 20 hours (1,200 minutes) spent reading, participants will earn an entry into one of our awesome prize drawings. Senior Center to Re-Open

Laurie Schwenk Senior Activity Center Opening Soon

Starting June 14, the Laurie Schwenk Senior Activity Center will re-open with a limited schedule. The hours of operation will be Monday-Thursday from 10 AM-2 PM until further notice. Activities including card games, crafts, and the pool room will be available for all members and non-members. Membership requirements will resume at a later date. Please check the Senior Activity Center Facebook page for upcoming events and further details. 

Bond 2021

Bond 2021 

The Bond 2021 Committee met on Monday, May 24 to discuss several items related to a potential bond election. Staff presented information about the City's budget process, municipal finance, and reviewed a list of potential projects. With this information, the Bond 2021 Committee discussed several options. Residents are encouraged to provide feedback or ask questions about the Bond 2021 process. There are several ways to do this! Residents can send an email to the dedicated email account, bond2021@cityofsachse.com, they can attend one of the Zoom Live Q&A sessions, or they can provide feedback in person by filling out a comment form while visiting City Hall, the Library, or the Michael J. Red, White, and Blue Blast
Will Return This July

Sachse's Annual Red, White & Blue Blast is back! This year's event will be held on Saturday, July 3rd, at Heritage Park (4408 Hudson Dr., Sachse, TX), starting at 6 PM. There will be live entertainment by the Party Machine Band, food trucks, yard games, and of course, fireworks. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, and bug spray! Join us for an evening of good, old-fashioned family fun. Visit the event webpage for more details.

MJF Community Center

Summer Hours at the Michael J. Felix Community Center Coming Soon

Starting June 8, the Michael J. Felix Community Center will begin its summer schedule. The hours of operation will be Tuesday-Friday from 10 AM-9 PM and Saturday from 9 AM-5 PM.  Please check the Parks and Recreation Facebook page for the court schedule during the summer.  Planning summer activities? Discover Your Bulk & Brush Collection Day

The City has new times to set out your bulk trash and brush collection. Bulk trash needs to be placed out no earlier than 48 hours prior to your scheduled collection day. What about brush? It goes out on the Saturday prior to your collection day.

Sachse's Chart For COVID-19 Info

Sachse maintains a list of active/recovered patients on its COVID-19 webpage. The chart includes the number of active cases, where the cases are located by county, the gender of the patients, status of the patients
(e.g., hospitalized, self-quarantined) and the number of recovered cases.
