Bond 2021 The City hosted its first Bond 2021 Zoom Live Q&A session on Thursday, April 22. Staff is working to prepare a summary of the questions and feedback provided. Once ready, this summary will be posted on the bond dedicated web page. Residents are invited to provide comments about the Bond 2021 process or ask questions by participating in the Zoom Live Q&A. These events will be offered at several different times to give residents an opportunity to participate according to when it is most convenient for their schedules.
The City will host three more Zoom Live events on the following dates:- Saturday, May 1 at 9 a.m.
- Friday, May 7 at 9 a.m.
- Wednesday, May 19 at 11 a.m.

Street Maintenance Tax ElectionThe Street Maintenance Tax is up for election this May. Sachse residents decide if a portion of Sachse's sales tax, 8.25%, is allocated to funding the maintenance of your roads. This program expires every four years and if voters choose not to renew it at the May 2021 election, the program will be discontinued.

Spring Cleaning is getting X-treme on May 15!The City and CWD will co-host an X-treme Green event on Saturday, May 15 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Sachse Municipal Complex. An X-treme Green Event is a one-stop place to dispose of household hazardous waste, automotive tires, used electronics and household metal goods. Confidential document shredding is also available on site. Mark your calendars and come join us!

Thank you, Arbor Day Jubilee Volunteers!The City of Sachse Parks & Recreation Department and City Staff would like to thank all of the Arbor Day Jubilee: Team Up & Clean Up participants for their efforts in improving our environment and beautifying the community. We had 15 groups that checked in on Saturday morning and about 170 volunteers cleaning up areas in Sachse throughout the day.
Everyone should be proud of their hard work. On Saturday, groups collected over 105 bags of trash (3,150 pounds), collectively put in over 340 volunteer hours, and planted 40 flowers. If you have any pictures of your group cleaning that you would like to share with us, feel free to email them to cwiseman@cityofsachse.com.

Want to serve? Apply to be on a City board or commission!The is seeking individuals to serve on several City boards and commissions. Interested residents may submit an application anytime. Appointments are generally made in November by the City Council. However, applications received will be considered for any vacancies that may arise during the year. Residents may contact the City Secretary's office with any additional questions. Current vacancies: Animal Shelter Board, Park Board, Tax Increment Financing Board (TIF), and Economic Development Corporation (EDC).

Cops and Campers Registration Now OpenThe Sachse Police Department is excited to offer the opportunity for your child to apply for and attend the Cops and Campers youth summer camp. Cops and Campers youth summer camp is FREE to all students selected and includes activities and games as well as age appropriate lessons. Each weekly camp will also feature a field trip. The camps are run by the School Resource Officers from the Sachse Police Department in conjunction with select high school students and adult volunteers. The Cops and Campers summer camp will be offered over 2 separate weeks. There will be four (4) camps for elementary students, and four (4) camps for middle school students. The hours of operation for each camp will be 8:00 am until 4:00 pm. Please note we can only accommodate 15 campers per camp. Click here to register.

Permit Fees Waived 90 Days on Storm Related RepairsPermit fees for commercial and residential remodels are temporarily waived for the next 90 days for all permits related to plumbing repairs, along with repairs to walls, floors and ceilings caused by the freezing precipitation in our area.
To qualify, the commercial or residential homeowner shall submit a completed permit application. The permit shall include a qualified plumber, according to State of Texas standards, who is registered with the City of Sachse. All plumbing repairs shall be made by the selected plumbing professional.
All work is subject to field inspection by the City. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the City requires all contractors to provide several pictures of their work. These pictures shall show all work that has been performed inside of walls before it is covered up, as well as the finished product. These pictures shall be sent to the City inspectors for review and approval of the work. All commercial remodels will be inspected in person. Click here for more information and permit applications.

Discover Your Bulk & Brush Collection DayThe City has new times to set out your bulk trash and brush collection. Bulk trash needs to be placed out no earlier than 48 hours prior to your scheduled collection day. What about brush? It goes out on the Saturday prior to your collection day.
