waste, electronic waste and all those documents cluttering your office and kitchen drawers for onsite shredding because we want it all! Come to X-treme Green from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 12 at the City Municipal Complex. Bring proof of residence, such as a current Sachse utility bill and a valid driver license.

Road Closure

Head's Up, Sachse!

The next step of the Sachse Road expansion begins on Monday, July 27. We anticipate it continues through the end of the year. Watch out for the following changes:

• The southbound lane of Fifth Street is closed.
• Westbound traffic on Sachse Road needs to turn north (right) onto Fifth Street.
• The left turn lane from SH 78 is closed to prevent traffic turning south onto Fifth Street.

These changes may cause delays in the area, so please plan accordingly. We appreciate your patience as we continue work on this important project.

A short growing pain for a tremendous community gain.

Food Drive Planned to Assist Sachse Residents

During a time when so many people need reassurance and support, Eagle Scout Jack Kisthardt decided to plan his project around ways to help others. He's working with St. Anthony Catholic Church in Wylie to host a food drive on Sunday, August 23. Donations of food and essential items benefit the Wylie Community Christian Care Center. It serves nine cities in the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex, including Sachse and Wylie.

Team Up to Fight Hunger

Team Up to Fight Hunger

Team Up to Fight Hunger is a collaboration of Sachse, Wylie, Murphy and area community partners to provide food to people and families in need while supporting local restaurants.

Families receive vouchers after completing a screening process with participating area food banks. Families can then take the vouchers to participating local restaurants, who have curated special menus for the families to choose from when ordering their meals. Each voucher is valued at $40 and provides a meal for a family of four. Families can go online at www.TeamUptoFightHunger.com/vouchers for the latest update about participating restaurants in the area and to check what each restaurant is serving for its customized meal.

“The City of Sachse and the Sachse EDC proudly support the Team Up to Fight Hunger program by providing help for local businesses impacted by COVID-19,” said the Director of Sachse Economic Development Corporation Leslyn Blake.
