The City of Sachse has already installed nearly 600 new water meters throughout the City as a part of our project to modernize the technology of our domestic water system. The project is now moving into the second phase, whereby the rest of the meters in the City will be replaced with new water meters. The new water meters will provide more detailed information regarding the water system and its usage after full conversion – allowing residents and City staff access to more complete information regarding water use.
For Phase 2, Professional Meters, Incorporated (PMI) will be completing the swap of approximately 7,000 water meters in the City, completing the upgrade of the entire system. You may see PMI staff changing out your water meter over the next 3-4 months. PMI will be completing their work neighborhood-by-neighborhood. During this time, access to water will only be interrupted for a few minutes at each home. If the City and/or PMI find that more extensive work is required, they will coordinate with the individual property owner. PMI will be scheduling meter change out times with businesses on an individual basis, to ensure that water service is not interrupted during high-use periods.
PMI crews will be replacing water meters southeast of State Highway 78 for the next 3-4 weeks.
PMI will be replacing water meters this Friday March 30th and Saturday March 31st on the following streets; Vicksburg Drive, Jefferson Drive, Pecan Grove Drive, and Murphy Road. PMI crews are currently placing door tags on homes that will be affected.
Thank you for your patience as we complete this important project for our citizens!
