[ARCHIVED] Sachse's First Confirmed West Nile Virus Human Case

Sachse has received official confirmation of the first human West Nile Virus case. In addition, mosquitoes tested positive again for the West Nile Virus at a trap located in the vicinity of Sable Lane. Dallas County will perform ground spraying on two consecutive nights as a response. The first ground spraying will start on Sunday, August 26th at 10:00 pm and finish by Monday, August 27th at 6:00 am. The second ground spraying will start on Monday, August 27th at 10:00 pm and finish by Tuesday, August 28th at 6:00 am.

Residents should stay indoors during this time and avoid contact with the insecticide. Those who might come in direct contact should wash with soap and water. Motorists who pass spray trucks should remain in their vehicles with the windows up and the air conditioner off until the insecticide dissipates. Fish ponds should be protected and pets should be brought indoors.
