[ARCHIVED] City Council Opts Not to Participate in Dallas County Aerial Mosquito Spraying

On Tuesday, August 14th, the Sachse City Council held a Special Meeting to consider participating in the Dallas County aerial mosquito spraying program. Council voted 4-3 not to spray in Sachse. The adjacent municipalities of Garland and Richardson will be participating in aerial mosquito spraying August 16 starting after 9:00 pm. Sachse City staff was informed that the likelihood of over-spraying is minimal. However, the City of Sachse would like its residents, particularly those residents adjacent to Garland and Richardson to be aware of the aerial spraying that is scheduled. The attached map shows the cities that will be sprayed this evening. Those cities indicated by a gray color will not be participating in the aerial spraying. Concerned residents can contact Billy Ho, Environmental Health Inspector at 469.429.4788.
