The City of Sachse will conduct a public meeting to present the proposed improvements to Merritt Road from Pleasant Valley Road to North of Sachse Road in the City of Sachse, Dallas County, Texas. The meeting details are as follows:

The purpose of the public meeting is to present the proposed project to the interested public. The meeting will be held in an open house format with no formal presentation. City representatives and the project team will be available to answer questions about the proposed project. The public will have the opportunity to learn more about and comment on the project need, purpose, preliminary design, and identified environmental constraints. Maps showing the proposed project’s location and geometric design will be available for viewing at the meeting. This information will also be available for public inspection from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the lobby of the City of Sachse City Hall located at 3815 Sachse Road, Sachse, Texas 75048.
Proposed improvements include widening Merritt Road to a four-lane divided roadway (two lanes in each direction) consisting of a 12-foot wide inside travel lane and a 14-foot wide outside shared use lane for bicycles and vehicles. The proposed project would also include construction of a sidewalk and shared-use path as well as drainage improvements. Approximately 0.2 mile of the roadway would be realigned on a new location from the intersection of Merritt Road with Heritage Circle to the intersection of Sachse Road with Woodbridge Parkway, for a total project length of 1.6 miles. The existing typical right-of-way (ROW) width is 60 to 135 feet wide and the proposed typical ROW width would be 107 to 152 feet wide. The proposed project would require approximately 7 acres of new ROW. One residential displacement is anticipated. Relocation assistance is available through City of Sachse for displaced persons. ROW acquisition and the relocation process would be conducted according to the Uniform Relocation Assistance and Real Property Acquisition Policies Act of 1970.
All interested persons are invited to attend the public meeting. Written comments from the public are requested and will be accepted for a period of 15 calendar days following the meeting for inclusion in the official public meeting documentation. Written comments may be submitted either in person at the public meeting or by mail to the City of Sachse, Attention Corey Nesbit, P.E., 3815 Sachse Road, Sachse, Texas 75048. Written comments must be postmarked on or before Wednesday, November 27, 2019.
Persons interested in attending the meeting who have special communication or accommodation needs are encouraged to contact Corey Nesbit, P.E. at cnesbit@cityofsachse.com at least two business days prior to the meeting. Because the public meeting will be conducted in English, any requests for language interpreters or other special communication needs should also be made at least two days prior to the public meeting.
