The Plan: Reconstruction of Sachse Road and 5th Street from SH-78 to Miles Road. The reconstructed concrete roadway will be a four-lane thoroughfare with two lanes in each direction, pedestrian sidewalk/trail, on-street parking, and a roundabout at the intersection of Sachse Road, West Creek Lane and 5th Street. In addition, there will be traffic signal, drainage, sanitary sewer and water improvements.

Project Description
The City of Sachse is proposing improvements to Merritt Road from Pleasant Valley Road to north of Sachse Road for a total project length of approximately 1.6 miles. Proposed improvements include the following:
Widening Merritt Road to a four-lane divided roadway (two lanes in each direction) consisting of a 12-foot wide inside travel lane and a 14-foot wide outside shared use lane for bicycles and vehicles;
Construction of a sidewalk and shared-use path as well as drainage improvements; and
Approximately 0.2 miles of new location roadway for realignment of Merritt Road with Woodbridge Parkway and construction of a traffic signal at the realigned Sachse Road-Merritt Road intersection.
