The Board of Adjustment is a quasi-judicial board consisting of five members and up to four alternates that hear and decide requests for variances and appeals where an error of determination is alleged to have been made by administrative officers of the City in the enforcement of the zoning ordinance. It is important to note, the Board has no authority to amend ordinances nor grant use variances, and a valid hardship necessary for a variance cannot be self-inflicted nor financially motivated. The Development Services Department provides staff support to the Board of Adjustment. |
