Can I request a book that the library doesn't own?: Yes. If the book was published within the last year, please come into the library and fill out a Suggestion for Purchase form. If the book is older than one year, fill out an Interlibrary Loan Request Form or Suggestion for Purchase Form online or at the library.

1. Do I have to live in Sachse to have a Sachse Public Library Card?: No, anyone in Texas can obtain a Sachse Public Library Card.

2. How do I get a library card?: Just come to the library with a valid driver’s license showing your current address. If your driver’s license does not show your current address, please bring a bill showing your name and address. Children under 16 will need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian in order to get a card.

3. Does the library have the book I am looking for?: Please reference the online catalogue to find the book or DVD you are looking for.

4. Does the library have wireless internet?: Yes. Feel free to bring your own laptop and connect to our network. See the staff at the circulation desk for instructions on how to connect.

5. Can I return my DVDs in the book drop?: Yes, DVDs and videos can be returned in the book drop.

6. Can I donate books and movies to the library?: Absolutely! New books and movies may be added to our collection, and used items will be sold by the Friends of the Library to help raise money for the library. All donations are tax-deductible and receipts are available at the library.

7. Are there fines for late items?: Yes. The Sachse Library charges $.10 per day for late books and $1.00 per day for late movies up to $5.00 per item.
Patrons who owe more than $5.00 in fines will not be allowed to check out items.

9. Does the library have internet computers?: Yes, the Sachse Library has nine computers available for public internet access, available on a first-come, first-served basis. The computers are also equipped with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

10. Does the library have e-books I can download?: Yes! The library offers not only e-books, but also e-audio books, and e-graphic novels. 11. Who are the Friends of the Library?: The Friends of the Sachse Public Library is a nonprofit 501c (3) corporation that provides fundraising support for the Library. If you would like more information on becoming involved in their activities, please call the Library or check the Friends of the Library web page.
