Library Card Sign-Up Month

September is Library Card Sign-Up Month, and we have exciting news at the Sachse Public Library! This month, we are introducing a NEW library card design!

All month long, both new and current library users can stop by the Sachse Public Library to receive one of our new library cards, and we are waiving library card replacement fees during the month of September. 

To register for a library card, visitors will need to bring their photo ID with a current Texas address listed, or a photo ID and a separate document (such as a utility bill, lease, or car insurance) that lists their name and current Texas address. 

As an added bonus for Library Card Sign-Up Month, everyone who receives a library card with the new design during the month of September will receive a special offer from Cold Stone Creamery! A big thanks to Cold Stone at the Station!

Hispanic Heritage Month Story Time

Families and children can join us at the Library on Tuesday, September 27 at 6 p.m. for a special Family Story Time celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month.

During this all-ages, intergenerational story time, children will enjoy songs, stories, and a craft. We hope to see you there!

Family History 101 on October 4th

Library Pumpkin Decorating Contest

Join us for some spooky fun this October by participating in the Library's pumpkin decorating contest!

During the week of October 3-8, Library visitors can pick up a pumpkin and paint kit at the Library to decorate at home. Then, we invite you to return your painted pumpkin to the Library during the week of October 10-15.

The next week, from October 17-22, visitors will be able to vote for their favorite pumpkin, and winners will be announced the week of October 24. 

Dungeons & Dragons at the Library

The Library is looking for a few players to fill our two Dungeons & Dragons campaigns.

Middle and High School students are invited to sign up for After School D&D, which meets on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month from 5-7 p.m. Adults and teens 16+ can also sign-up for a monthly D&D campaign which meets on the 4th Thursday of each month from 6-9 p.m. 

Eager to join, but don't know how to play? No problem! New players are welcome regardless of previous experience.

Spots for both campaigns are limited, and participants must register online at www.cityofsachse.com/dnd. 

Pet Food Drive During "Dogtober!"

The month of October is "Dogtober" at the Sachse Public Library! All month-long, the Library will host a pet food and pet supplies drive benefitting the Sachse Animal Shelter. 

From October 1-31, Library visitors are encouraged to bring in pet food and supplies, including toys, treats, towels, blankets, and cleaning supplies.
