City Employee Benefits
The benefits listed are for full-time employees only. Part-time employees receive prorated vacation, sick leave, personal days and holidays, and longevity payments.
- Bereavement Leave - Up to 3 days for the death of an immediate family member.
- Bilingual Pay - $25 per month for the proven ability to read, write, or speak another language
- Deferred Compensation - Employees can contribute up to 25% of their salary for long term tax-deferred savings
- Dental Insurance - The city pays 100% of employee premiums, and $50 towards the cost of dependent dental coverage
- Employee Assistance Program - Paid by the city
- Health Insurance - The city pays 100% of employee premiums, and contributes 35% toward dependent coverage
- Incentive Pay - Varies based on approved certifications
- Life Insurance - the city provides life insurance at no cost to employees, up to $50,000
- Long Term Disability - Up to 60% of salary effective after 90 days of disability
- Longevity Pay - $4 per month after one full year of completed service
- Paid Holidays - Ten holidays per year
- Personal Leave - Five days per fiscal year
- Retirement - Employees contributes 7% with funds matched 2:1 at retirement
- Sick Leave - 6.67 hours per month to a maximum of 500 hours
- Social Security / Medicare - Social Security is withheld from paychecks at 6.2%, Medicare at 1.45%
- Supplemental Insurance - Available for short-term disability, accident insurance, cancer insurance, heart/stroke insurance, and universal life insurance
- Tuition Reimbursement - Up to $2,000 annually
- Vacation Leave:
- 1-4 years: 10 days per year
- 5-14 years: 15 days per year
- More than 15 years: 20 days per year
